Jaime Pozo was a man of strength, faith, and heroic courage. He passed away on Saturday morning in the peace of his home, surrounded by his devoted family, after fighting a long and noble battle against ALS. Born in Banes, Cuba, he came to the United States in 1954 to attend Virginia Tech, where he received a degree in industrial engineering. He is survived by his cherished wife of 56 years, Dr. Graciela Pozo, and their four children: Yvette Almeida, Grazie Christie, Jaime Pozo, and William Pozo, as well as thirteen grandchildren.
Throughout his lifetime, Jaime strove tirelessly as an engineer, real estate investor, and business owner, often in the face of enormous obstacles and always cheerfully. Far more impressive than any of his professional accomplishments was his dedication and fidelity to his family. Jaime’s death leaves a frightful void in their hearts, especially in that of his wife, who cared for him with perfect tenderness until he breathed his last. Jaime was renowned for his generosity and courtesy, which he extended to a wide circle of friends who face his passing with sadness. As a son of God and the Church, he died in the certainty of the resurrection and life eternal. His wife Graciela, along with their children and grandchildren, ask for prayers, that his entrance into heaven be speedy, his reception accompanied by the joyful song of angels.
His wake will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135, from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at The Cathedral of St. Mary, 7525 NW 2nd Avenue, at 11:00am, directly followed by his burial at Flagler Memorial Park, 5301 W Flagler Street, Miami, FL.
