I went to school with Frances. She and I played guitar together. I thought of her when I was talking with my husband about The Bitter End cafe. Francis said she slways planned to play there ( and The Flick) in Miami. We lost touch but obviously...I remembered her fondly...RIP Frances

It was only recently that I even realized I had relatives from my father's (James Vincent Catania) side of the family.  Frances was in touch with my sister after her brother's passing and we were hoping to reconnect at some point.  I so saddened and shocked that I will never get the opportunity to make the connection to my father's family that I had hoped.  My sincere condolences to the Catania and Venezia families.

Dear Nicolina and Carmine:  Your mother Frances and I went to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School all throughout elementary school together.  Many times I had the honor and the privilege to spend time with your mother at your Grandpa and Grandma Catania's house, when we we growing up.  I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss; however, God wanted her beautiful soul home with Him in heaven--her eternal glory and reward.  He wanted her singing and her music to join His choirs of angels.  Now her happiness and joy are a forever gift.  My prayers are with you, and your uncle--your mom's brother, and your grandparents Catania.  My love to one and all.

In our H-school Senior year,a group of us contributed towards the purchase of a brand-new guitar for Fran. SHe performed in a Coral Gables coffeehouse. She had a knack for bringing people together-community! I was pleased to see her at our 40th class reunion and to meet her,beautiful,daughter,Nicolina. My thoughts and prayers are with her children and family for comfort and strength. Estelle Templeton

Your mother was an inspiration to me all through high school. Her singing voice was beautiful and so was her guitar playing. The song "Peace" we sang at mass was a beautiful inspiration. I still remember the words. It was Frances that made it memorable.

She was a good friend of mine. We spent many a day together. At her home or mine. Your grandparents were very kind to me. I loved them all for filling my life with kindness and love.

Such a great musician you were when we were in high school together.  You ROCKED BIG TIME as a folk singer dear.
 I'm sure your life was robust because of all your gifts, talents & big spirit.  I too, had 2 children &  can't imagine their sadness at your loss.  My mother-love sends to them warm hugs & reminders of how she would want you to thrive as good human beings.

Nicolina, I'm really sorry to hear about this. I only met your mom once and it was when Kale was a baby and she right off the bat without having met us, treated us with such kindness and compliments. I can't imagine what you and your sister are going through but I wish you the best.

Fran lived her life with such passion, she was an inspiration to everybody she met. God Bless you Fran, you will be missed.

Your Mother was a happy and loving person.  All of her high school friends knew that we could count on her for a joyous song and a thoughtful word.  I pray that God gives you loving children to adore as she did you.

We are so very sorry for your loss.  This is a terrible thing that happened to a wonderful lady.  Your mom was one of a kind.  I still remember the very 1st time we met.  It was the Open House for Nicolina's  6th grade.  Nicolina had almost every class with Brittany.  Your poor mom was trying to run back & forth to both Carmine's & Nicolina's classes.  She always put her children 1st.    She will be deeply missed!
