Never forget the story I was told, how Eric as a young teen was stopped in cuba by the police. He was asked where is was from and stated he was from Florida, not knowing there is a place in cuba called florida lol.

Deaths are never easy. I hope you two and Eric’s son can continue to live a life Eric would of wanted. He always seemed like a happy person and if I had to guess, he would want you all to continue living life. Live a life of joy and happiness. 



Eric is well remembered at Florida Christian School where he was a student for several years. He is greatly loved and missed.

Your presence & goodness will be missed. You're an exceptional father, son, brother, professional attorney, community leader, gentleman, & friend.
We'll miss your wit, intelligence, humor (you're among the funniest people I've ever known), kindness, principles, community leadership, & conservative advocacy. 
My condolences to your son, mother, sister, special lovers, other family members, & framily who all mourn your passing from this realm.
I'll always treasure our chats about politics at all levels, world history, wonderful places to visit on earth, of the ongoing extraterrestrial life debate, about the complexity of women & relationships, societal changes for better & for worse, of our children, other loved ones, & predictions of what the future holds for us all.
Although 5 months younger than me, you are wise beyond your years. I'll miss your advice, counsel, & gifted analytical questions & thoughts.
I don't know who to call now should I need a criminal defense attorney - as you were the best one in Florida.
Most of all, I'll miss your smile that radiated a room, & your so very unique laugh that made laughter contagious.
I am comforted to know your battle for health has ended & you rest in peace with the Lord in heaven.

Eric’s passing has wrecked me. He and I shared office space together in Coral Gables, with attorneys Rick Diaz and Carlos Santisteban, until he moved out to get his own place. 

Eric was one of the funniest individuals I have ever known. We connected that way. We would laugh together about life’s absurdities until tears rolled down our cheeks. 

Always the gentleman, Eric would wear a suit and tie everyday to work no matter how hot the weather. 

Eric had a wry smile and kind eyes. He loved his son dearly, who he spoke about lovingly all the time. 

Eric and I would see each other regularly at Hillstone where he would order his one obligatory martini and then head off into the night when he was finished. 

When Eric became sick and his body turned against him, he always kept a smile on his face and an aura of confidence about him that said he could beat this evil disease. 

Eric was a devout Catholic and knew much about religion and religious history. He had visited Israel as had I and we spoke often about the Holy Land. He had walked the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, in the footsteps of Jesus. 

I know he is now in the arms of Jesus his savior looking down on his friends and family. May he rest in peace forever. 

Eric was a wonderful human being, a true gentleman, and a great lawyer. I had the pleasure of working with him at the State Attorney's Office and will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and great looks.  Gone wayyyy too soon.  RIP, socio.  :-(

So very sorry to hear this news. Love to Eric’s family and close friends. I went to school with Eric and he was a great guy. 

Eric, you will be greatly missed. My condolences to your entire family and especially Lucas. You were a remarkable human being and one of the funniest attorney's I had the pleasure of working with at the SAO. May the Lord welcome you into his kingdom with open arms.
