It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin de la Campa Camino, who passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the age of 83. Benjamin was born in Havana, Cuba, on November 19, 1941, and lived a life full of passion and creativity. A lover of filmmaking, he was known for capturing every special moment, always with his camera in hand. Whether it was a family gathering, holiday, or simple get-together, Benjamin had a remarkable ability to preserve memories, allowing future generations to relive those moments through his films.
In addition to his love for film, Benjamin had a deep passion for baseball. Benjamin carried this love for the game throughout his life, sharing it with friends and family alike. He was always eager to discuss the latest games, players, and his favorite moments, making baseball a cornerstone of his conversations and a source of joy in his life.
"Pupi" was a devoted husband, grandfather and great grandfather. His legacy will live on through the countless films he made and the stories he shared about his beloved sport. Though he will be greatly missed, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Benjamin is survived by his spouse, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. May he rest in peace.
A funeral mass for Benjamin will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Raymond of Peñafort Catholic Church, 3475 SW 17th Street, Miami, FL 33145. Following the funeral mass will be a burial at 11:00 am at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North, 3260 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135.
