In Loving Memory of Bella Licea Lopez, Bella Licea Lopez, born on September 15, 1928, in Victoria de as Tunas, Cuba, to Carlos Licea and Carmela Roviralta, passed away surrounded by love and cherished, memories. Bella’s life was one of resilience, creativity, and compassion. She pursued her education at the prestigious Universidad de la Habana, where she graduated with honors. On December 10, 1955, Bella married Jorge Manuel Lopez Nunez in Havana, Cuba, beginning a lifelong journey filled with love and
partnership.
Bella worked as a dedicated teacher, first in Cuba, where she touched the lives of many students, and later in the United States at Loyola, where she continued her passion for education. Her deep love for life led her to explore new paths, including becoming a florist. For many years, she created beauty through her flower shop, bringing joy to countless people with her arrangements.
In addition to her talents as an educator and florist, Bella had a deep passion for writing. She authored and published three books, with poetry being her favorite form of expression. Her words touched the
hearts of many, just as her warmth and kindness did in her everyday life.
Bella loved children and had a special way of making everyone feel valued and unique. Her generous spirit, creativity, and love will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Bella is survived by her three children: Jorge (Mariu), Bella (widow to Gary), and Carlos (Dorene). She also leaves behind six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Bella’s legacy lives on through her writings, her family, and the many lives she touched throughout her extraordinary life.
