Terry “Robin” Akers Bolner transitioned peacefully at her home in Madisonville, LA surrounded by family on Monday, July 22, 2024. She was born on October 29, 1953 and grew up in Alexandria, LA. She lived in the San Francisco Bay area for 10 years before moving to Austin TX, where she spent 21 years. She returned to Louisiana in 2021 with her husband and partner of 29 years, Rick.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Roger Akers and Alma Louise Akers, who resided in Alexandria, LA. She is survived by her loving husband, Rick Bolner, her brother, Chas Akers, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews from both sides of her family.
She was an enthusiastic, life-long learner and received a bachelor of arts degree from New College in San Francisco and a master of science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) from St. Edwards University in Austin. She had a superb business sense noted by a successful sales career, winning awards while working for Fortune-500 companies. Her last award was an MVP sales recognition from a Fortune-200 company. She and her husband loved to travel with frequent trips to Europe and often to Paris to see a life-long friend. Robin was endowed with many talents but most notably her incredible photogenic presence, the camera loved her.
God will know Robin for many reasons, her love of Mary, Mary Magdalene, Joan of Arc, the prayer of Saint Francis, her love of his son and his spiritual acts, but God will know her best for her kindness and generosity. It was difficult for her to whisper an unkind word about any living creature. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her, particularly by her husband.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
