Richard Joseph Mock, 68 passed away peacefully at his home in Norco, Louisiana after a lengthy battle with cancer with his wife and daughter beside him. Ricky was born in New Orleans on April 22, 1955 to Joseph Aloysius and Lois Belcher Mock. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenny and Wayne. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ellen Laurent, and his daughter, Mary-Anne Elizabeth, both of Norco, his mother-in-law, Margaret Laurent of Norco, his sisters-in-law, Cindy (Joey) and Anne (Dino) as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ricky was a 1973 graduate of Brother Martin High School where he played trumpet in their various bands. He also attended LSU where he played trumpet in the Tiger Marching Band.
Ricky loved his family and many friends, all things fishing, watching football and baseball (especially LSU), his classic cars and Crusin’ the Coast with Ellen. He crabbed commercially for 37 years and made many lifelong friends in that industry as well as maintaining those of his “brothers” from Brother Martin High School. He prided himself on being a good provider and was especially happy to take us on many vacations.
