Ralph J. Giardina

Ralph J. Giardina, age 84, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014. Beloved husband of Linda Dunbar Giardina. Loving father of Debbie G. Brandt (Steve), Danny C. Giardina (Vivian), David R. Giardina, Darlene G. Lusk (Ron) and Julie G. Shaffer (Matthew). Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Brother of Lena Pizzo, Mickie Bayer and Buddy Giardina, Jr. Ralph was a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard and was employed as a horse trainer/owner, President of several banks and the CEO of Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Mr. Giardina was responsible for opening most of the early franchises, both domestically and internationally, and played an important role in the restaurant's success. As an avid sports fan he loved to cheer for the Tulane Greenwave and the Saints, but when he wasn’t enjoying his favorite teams he could be found at Chateau Country Club playing golf or cards with his friends. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Philip Neri, 6500 Kawanee Ave., on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Visitation from 11:00 am until time of service.
