He was born January 7, 1951 in Pubrto Cortez Honduras, born to Pablo Alberto ‘Beto’ López and Maria Ramona Rivas de López. He found his soul mate and partner for life, when he married Susan Francis Reinhardt.
Paul joined the Marines after high school where he was a Staff Sargent. After leaving the military, he received a degree as a Biomedical technician. He retired from the Biomedical field. He enjoyed his time as the vice commander of legion post 377. He loved good food, gardening, and taking weekend trips with his beloved amore. Paul also loved spending long summers with his grandchildren. Teaching them about cooking, his love for history, and life. Paul had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
He is survived by his wife , Suzy; his step daughters, Elisabeth Smith (Christian) and Ashley Martin (Kyle) several grandchildren whom he loved deeply (Tatum, Cooper, Ridley, and Ella) all of whom live in Southern Louisiana, and brought great joy to his later years. He is also survived by his sisters Hazel Joyce López Champagne, Barbara Patricia López, and niece Natalie Patricia Praetorius.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Legion Post 377 in his honor.
Funeral services will be held at a private graveside service. All are invited to a celebration of life on Friday at 2 p.m. at Suzy and Paul’s residence.
