Patricia Burns Holloway transitioned at the age of 75 on Friday, April 5, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. “Pat”, as everyone called her, was born February 18, 1949, to Leon Burns Sr. and Gloria Burns. She was the second eldest child from their union of six children.
Patricia graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School in 1968. She went on to pursue an illustrious career in the banking industry for over 30 years. During their union, she enjoyed their travels throughout the world, engaging in the festivities of life. They resided in Toledo, Ohio for many years before moving to LaPlace, Louisiana at her request to be closer to family and friends.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband William “Del” Holloway Sr.; her daughter, Demetria Taylor (Kevin Sr.); her stepchildren, Teresa Holloway, Lynne Holloway and William D. Holloway Jr.; four brothers, Leon Burns Jr, Steven Burns Sr. (Sandra), Stanley Burns and Lloyd Burns Sr.; a brother-in-law, four-sisters-in-law; and a godchild, Maria Daniels. She is also survived by a dear friend, Roseanna Dunn-Johnson; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Burns Sr. and Gloria Burns and a sister, Bernadette Alsobrook.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Patricia’s life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:00 am at Destiny Church Center located at 612 Main St. in LaPlace, LA 70068. There will be no interment.

“To my wife, the love you provided is unlike any other, I will never forget our journey. You fulfilled me, you comforted me, you endured me. For that, I am forever grateful. You are free from pain; may you rest in eternal peace. I MISS YOU.” William “Del” Holloway Sr.
