Margaret Duncan Peters

Margaret Ann Duncan Peters, a retired teacher, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born in Shreveport, LA and raised in Baton Rouge. She obtained a B.A. in education from ULL (formerly USL) and did graduate work at UNO. She had a fulfilling career teaching at Archbishop Chapelle High School (1966 - 1972), Kehoe France (1985 - 1989), and finally, Hahnville High School (1990 - 2007). She resided in Kenner from 1969 until her death.

She was predeceased by her parents, John Duncan Jr. and Lyria G. Duncan; her husband of 36 years, Gerald R. Peters; a son, Kyle David Peters; a grandson, Matthew Gerald Peters, and her sister, Lyria A. Duncan.

She is survived by her son, Douglas R. Peters (Kelly); her brother, Mark Duncan (Kim) and her brothers-in-law, Wayne Peters (Toni) and Ralph Peters (Linda) in addition to four grandchildren, Mark, Jared, Jesse and Mia Peters.

Services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM. She will be buried next to her husband in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
