Mrs. Marcella Marion Bennett Cotten

Marcella Marion Bennett Cotten passed away on Tuesday morning, December 7, 2010 at her home at the age of 83. A native of Pennsylvania, raised in Texas and a resident of Metairie over 42 years. She is preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband of 61 years, William Jennings Cotten. Marian was the daughter of the late William David Bennett and Marcella Isabella Bennett. She was the devoted mother of Dennis Lee Cotten (wife, Gail Quinters) of Humble, Texas, Cheri Lynn Cotten Buchler (husband, Conrad Buchler) of Metairie, Carolyn Sue Cotten Simmons (husband, Rodney Simmons) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Bradley William Cotten of Metairie and the late Deborah Ann Cotten. Marian was the devoted and most loving grandmother of Daniel Lee Simmons (wife, Ketsareepat “Kate” Sarisawat), Jonathan David Cotten, Chad Michael Cotten, Ryan Patrick Simmons, Conrad “Andy” Andrew Buchler, Jr., Caitlin Parrish Cotten and Kimberly Ann Buchler and very proud great grandmother to Mallika “Malli” Kristine Simmons. She is preceded as sister of the late Donald David Bennett, Gerald John Bennett and Joan Bennett Allen and mother-in-law to the late Elisa Jane Parrish Cotten. Marian retired from Consolidated Freight after 25 years of service. After retirement she and her husband volunteered proudly for the US Forestry Service of Montana every summer for many years. The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Friday evening, December 10, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday morning, December 11, 2010 beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in the Garden of Memories Funeral Home Chapel.
