Lorraine Hartl Conant, 87, of Kenner, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2023 at The Chateau Living Center. Lorraine, known by her children and grandchildren as “Lolly,” loved and valued her family more than anything. She loved staying up-to-date with relatives and was always so very proud of everyone’s achievements no matter how small.
Born on May 25th, 1936 to John Joseph Hartl and Hazel Hartl, Lorraine was a native of Hartford, Connecticut, an alumni of UCONN, and a nurse for many years. Eventually Lorraine moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where she spent several decades working in sales before she retired and dedicated her time to raising her granddaughter, Rachel. She later moved to Elizabeth City, North Carolina where she resided for many years before moving back to New Orleans.
She was a proud mother to four sons, John King (sp. Margaret King), James King, Richard King and late Mark King. She was a grandmother to Jamie King, Chris King (sp. Bethany King), and Rachel Marie King. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, who she was most proud of, Arya, Leila, Talia and Charleigh Michelle. She is also survived by her brother Michael Hartl (sp. Cherie Hartl), niece Kelly Gomes, and nephew Kevin Hartl.
A visitation for Lorraine will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006, followed by a funeral mass at 1:00 PM.
Lorraine will be laid to rest in St. James Cemetery, 368 Broad Street, Manchester, Connecticut 06040.
