Death does not come untimely to those who are fit to die. Death comes swiftly, but to those who are prepared, it makes no difference. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under The Heaven, a time to be born and a time to die.
Jeralean C. Willett was the daughter of Edward Cage Sr. and Annie Lee Hunt. She was born on April 22, 1943 in Sondheimer- rural, LA. She attended Morehouse High School in Bastrop, LA, and Delta College for Nursing Assistants in Gretna, LA. Jeralean worked at Prayer Tower Nursing Home for 11 years. She moved her employment to Summerville Assistant Living in August of 2000, which is now Brookdale, until her death.
Jeralean accepted Christ at an early age. In 1980 she joined Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ. She was baptized on September 13, 1987 by the late Bishop Lindel Brown. While at Prayer Tower, Jeralean served on the Usher Board, Fundraising Committee, President of Pastor Support, Pastors Hospitality, and was a Trustee Board member under the leadership of Rev. Jermaine R. Hampton. Jeralean was a dedicated member of her church and she loved her pastor and members.
Jeralean departed this life on Sept. 13, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father, Edward E. Cage; step-father, Woodrow W. Foreman Sr.; three brothers, Woodrow W. Foreman Jr., Edward E. Cage Jr., and Karl Cage; two sisters, Anna Louise Cage and Earlean Thomas. She leaves to mourn her home going her husband, Leonard E. Willett; mother, Anna Lee Hunt; son, Kittrell Cage; daughter/ niece, Chernielle K. Thomas; godchild, Derrick Landry, and 27 brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in -law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. She also leaves behind the Donhan family, Grady King Jr. and family, Latricia Matthews and family, Julia Craige, and Mary Barnes (Grand Rapids, Michigan). It was a pleasure to serve as your caregiver.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22nd at Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ, 8708 Willow St, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 9-10AM with a funeral service lead by Rev. Jermaine R. Hampton at 10AM. Burial will follow at 2PM at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA.
