Jack Winn

Jack Kenneth Winn, January 8th, 1930 - December 30, 2016 passed peacefully in Orlando, FL. Jack is survived by his wife Donna Russell Winn, children Kenneth Mark Winn, Janice Winn Vamprine, Steven Michael Winn, daughter-in-law Vicki Varisco Winn, son-in-law Edward Vamprine, grandchildren Gabriel D'Angelo, Evan Vamprine, Sasha Vamprine, former wife and mother of their three children Edna Mae Nicosia Winn, sister Gloria Winn Lozano, sister-in-law April Winn and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was born and raised in New Orleans and is a graduate of Warren Easton and Tulane Univ. He served four years in the U.S. Navy (1948-52) as a RADAR Operator logging over 850 hours in the air. Jack joined the Manville Corporation out of college and married Edna Mae Nicosia on October 7th, 1956 at St. Alphonsys Catholic Church; married for 29 years. In 1963 Jack worked at the Chrysler Corporation at the Michoud Facility scheduling the control of production, testing, staffing and equipment purchases. Jack joined Glazer Steel & Aluminum in August 1968 as an Industrial Engineer. In 1972 Jack worked for Medicenter as the Assistant Administrator and eventually Administrator. In 1981 Jack joined Stewart Enterprises as VP of Administration. In 1989 Jack moved to Orlando, FL where he met Donna Russell while both were employed at a nursing home and married in 1994. Soon after, he retired to gardening, tennis and running including completing the 1983 New Orleans Marathon. He will be forever remembered as the eternal optimist, an involved father, and one who turned the ordinary into fun with his wonderful sense of humor.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Visitation on Saturday, January 7th, 2017, starting at 12:00 pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd, Metairie, LA 70006. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm with a repass following until 5:00 pm.
