Harry Joseph "Buddy" Carver

Harry Joseph “Buddy” Carver passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday morning, April 2, 2016. He was 84 years old. Beloved husband of the late Gerry Bevan Carver of 47 years. Loving father of Michael Carver, Ann Carver Robinson (James), and Gregory Carver (Cathey). Grandfather of Brett Carver, Rachael Harding, David Robinson, Daniel Carver, Julie Carver, Becca Carver, Shayne Carver, and the late Blake Carver. Great-grandfather of eight. Brother of Marilyn Courtenay. Son of the late Harry and Nora Carver. Also survived by his loving companion of twelve years, Barbara Sweet and her family. Buddy was a native New Orleanian from St. Roch and resident of Metairie for 54 years. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union 130 for over 60 years where he worked as an electrician and represented the Local as a business agent and president of the Retirees Club. The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff at East Jefferson General Hospital, Fresenius Dialysis Center, Concerned Care, and Dr. Harry Roach. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at 11:00.
