Geraldine "Gerry" Leona Nash Ramagos passed away peacefully at her home in Boerne, TX on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. She was 91. She was born to the late Gerald C. Nash and Leona C. Nielsen Nash on December 21, 1932, in Oakland, CA. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Douglas John Ramagos and the mother of Theresa "Terri" Leona Ramagos-Litzner (Harold Litzner) and Tammy Lynne Ramagos. She was the sister of Harold G. Nash and the late Patricia Nash and John G. Nash. She was the grandmother of Evan D. Spieckermann, Adam D. Litzner and Andrew R. Litzner and the great-grandmother of Olivia R. Litzner. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew her.
She graduated from Emery High School in Emeryville, CA and volunteered with the U.S.O. while living in CA. She was employed by the phone company in CA and in Baton Rouge, LA. She ran numerous races and also volunteered at many of them. She was a huge football fan, especially for the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. She was such a fan of Peyton Manning that the family called him "Cousin" Peyton. At the football stadium in Denver while Peyton was playing, she was given a free T-shirt by one of the staff members which made her so excited. She enjoyed Mardi Gras and was a member of the Krewe of Isis for a few years. Most of all, she loved her family and her dogs (although no one knows which one she loved more). She was a founding member of Our Lady of Divine Providence Church where she attended Mass as long as she was physically able to.
Services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM - 2:00PM followed by a Prayer Service. She will be buried with her husband in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in St. Rose, LA.
