Erin Leigh Accardo

Erin Leigh Accardo, age 43, of Bedico, LA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, while surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Accardo, who has been by her side for the past 27 years and her loving parents, Patricia and Philip Abshire. She is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Georgette Cuccia.

Erin was a graduate of Grace King High School and obtained a certificate for nursing assistant through Remington College. She devoted her life to animals and was involved with several animal rescues over the years. She worked at Lakeshore Veterinary Hospital, and recently, had been fostering dogs through Once Upon a Tail Rescue.

Erin's family is eternally grateful to Rici Rawls for her selfless donation of a kidney to her as it gave them nine additional years with her. The family would also like to acknowledge the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital for the exceptional care they bestowed upon Erin.

Services will be held at New Life Tabernacle, 6017 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am - 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service. She will be laid to rest with her sister in Oak Hill Cemetery in Moundville, Alabama on Wednesday, July 26, 2023
