Dorothy Kaul

Dorothy Kaul, age 94, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2022. Dorothy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, George F. Ulmo and Frances A. Gaczik Ulmo Lemler, brother, George Ulmo (Evelyn), and her beloved husband of over 68 years, Calvin Evans Kaul.

Dorothy is survived by her children Calvin John Evans Kaul (Ramona), Cynthia Kaul, Charlene Blackstock (Henry), and Clayton Kaul (Rebecca). She is also survived by grandchildren, Carri Burgess ("Dave"), Calvin Kaul III, Amy Van Tassel (Kris), Henry Blackstock IV (April), Jeremy Blackstock (Jolane), Clayton Kaul Jr. (Vivian), Elizabeth Rapp (James), John Barret Kaul, and Peter Kaul; great-grandchildren, James Kaul, Triston Blackstock, Caleb Blackstock, Seamus Rapp, Benjamin Rapp, Patrick Rapp, Amelia Rapp, and August Kaul, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She served as an Auxilary President of the Military Order of the Purple Heart 1955, and VFW Post 3267 Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Zig and Zag Square Dance Club. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, needlepoint, and crafts.

A Visitation for Dorothy will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana 70006. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation in the Leitz-Eagan Chapel. The interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, 120 City Park Ave., New Orleans, Louisiana.
