She was born on March 1, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Christian and Pauline Foto Walz. She lived her early life in a house on N. Galvez Street planned and built by her father and uncle. She had one sister, Ethel, who preceded her in death. Claire was happily married for many years to Harold Carbo until his passing.
Following graduation from high school, she was employed in the office of the L&N Railroad for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, and socializing with her friends. Her continued interests included reading the daily newspaper and magazines. She loved eating fried chicken, hot dogs with chili and muffalettas and did so until the end of her life.
She is survived by her son Rodney Waller and wife Susan, her two stepsons Harold Carbo and wife Susan and Richard Carbo and wife Debbie. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her loss.
We are expressing a special thank you to her caregiver Ofelia Lee whose kind and attentive care allowed Claire to remain in her home where she was the happiest until the end of her life.
