Charles Edward Sparacello

Charles Edward Sparacello, age 79 of Kenner, LA, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Charles was born in New Orleans, LA on September 21, 1945 to Paul Francis Sparacello and Sadie Ray Jackson Sparacello. He graduated from Warren Easton High School in 1963 and attended LSU. Charles served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1965-1967. In August of 1967, Charles met his soon to be wife, Sherran Becknell, while working at the Federal Reserve Bank in New Orleans. They were married on April 24, 1970. After working for the FRB, Charles worked for Delta Container Corporation for the remainder of his career.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Sadie, and his brother, Bill Sparacello.

Survivors include his beloved wife Sherran; his daughters, Shawn Sparacello Banks and Shelley Sparacello Pettus (Chris); grandchildren, Sarah (Matt), Katie (fiancé Ri), Hannah (fiancé Anthony), Hayley, and Hayden; great grandchildren, Jackson and Evan; brothers, Jimmy Sparacello and Robert Sparacello (Mona); and sister-in-law Helene Sparacello. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Charles will be laid to rest at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
