Charles "Charlie" Christiana

Charles “Charlie” Christiana passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, November 23rd, 2017, surrounded by his family. One of eleven children, Charlie was born to Ignatius and Annie Legreco Christiana on July 30th, 1931. He is survived by his wife Mildred Crayton Christiana and their children, Charlene Heyl, Charles Christiana (Cindie), Madeline Christiana, Jon Christiana (Carmen), Charlene Kleinschmidt (Kenneth), Bryan Maggio (Linda), and C. Brad Christiana (Aimee); his sisters Lynn Gauthier; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Elizabeth Roch; his brothers Anthony, Thomas, Joseph, Nicholas, and Ignatius Christiana, his sisters Madeline Christiana, Frances Ferrera, Josephine Volpi and Rosemary Volpi; and his son-in-law Gary Heyl, Sr. Charlie was a veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a distributer for Barq’s Beverage Company and Dixie brewery and he was an Independent Seafood Distributer. Friends and relatives of the family are invited to a visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, on Friday, December 1st, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans.
