Catherine “Nonnie” Gallagher passed on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Malroy “Honey” Gallagher. Mother of Catherine Gallagher Floyd (fiancé Vincent). Grandmother of Michael Malroy Floyd, Sr. (wife Jill), Catherine ‘Kitty” Floyd and the late Gary David Floyd (wife Eva). Great grandmother of Michael Jr., Tiffany, Amanda, Dylan and Ethan. Great-great grandmother of Landon and Braylen. Daughter of the late Charles DeCorte and Marie Thomaston DeCorte. Nonnie was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie since 1943. She was a retired switchboard operator for the Fairmont Hotel and a member of the American Bowler’s Association and the Metairie Art Guild.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 11:00 am at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, April 4, 2011 from 6 – 9 pm and on Tuesday morning from 9 – 11 am. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
