We lost our beloved Alice Elizabeth Scanlon LeBlanc on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Alice was only 65 years old. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gary Leblanc, her children, Justin (Ceili) Colletti and Megan (Jeffrey) Hughes and her grandchildren, Ethan and Finley Colletti. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Paul (Judy) Scanlon, Jack (Tina) Scanlon, Michael (Gina) Scanlon, Grace (Kyle) Hammond, and Ann (Roger) Baudry in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Paul O’Connor Scanlon Sr. and Alice Elizabeth Makem Scanlon and by her niece Caroline Marie Scanlon.
Alice was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and she graduated from Sacred Heart in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was an outstanding business leader having opened the first Victoria’s Secret in Esplanade mall, was HR Director of Upton’s Department Stores, Executive Assistant for the Catholic Diocese of Memphis and retired from Pfizer in 2021. Alice was wonderful. She loved a party, and she lit up a room with her great gift of conversation, making others feel welcome and special. She loved to celebrate the seasons and decorate her home having hosted many parties and swim weekends. Her favorite saying was “It’s all good!” never letting anything spoil the moment. Alice loved to travel with Gary, her children, and grandchildren and most important to Alice was spending time with them. Alice never missed an opportunity to be with her family. We all loved her so very much. She had a special bond with each of us and she will forever be in our hearts and prayers.
Visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, LA on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm followed by a Memorial Mass.
