Norman Eugene (Gene) McKenzie, 49 peacefully passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at his home with his mother by his side. Gene was born on March 30, 1966, in Lompoc (Vandenberg Air Force Base), CA. He is survived by his mother; Norma McKenzie and brothers; Mike McKenzie and Kenneth McKenzie, nieces; Katie, Kalynn, and Taylor, nephews; Joey, David, Robbie and Jeremy, several great nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his father; Robert McKenzie. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Gonzalez Funeral Home & Crematory located at 1111 Military Parkway in Mesquite, Texas. Celebration of life and funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. followed by interment at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
