Margaret Arminta Vaughn, 92, of Dallas, TX passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Golden Acres Living and rehab facility in Dallas. She was born on her family farm in Lake Dallas, TX to the late Arno Hill Thurmond and Anna McCurley Thurmond. Margaret graduated from Denton High School and moved to Dallas shortly thereafter. She then met and married the love of her life James Victor Vaughn in 1945 and made Dallas their home where they raised their two children Nancy and Jimmy. Margaret worked in retail sales most of her life retiring from Kmart after many years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and going on fishing expeditions with her family. Margaret was a woman of strong faith. She was a member of the Church of Christ all of her life. She will always be remembered as the kindest, sweetest, most loving lady that ever lived. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years James Victor Vaughn and six of her siblings. Margaret is survived by her daughter Nancy Lynch; son Jimmy Vaughn; grandchildren Nicole Prince, Mindy Dennington, Wayne Vaughn, and Eric Vaughn; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild; brother Delmas Thurmond; sister Peggy Jenkins; as well as her numerous loving nieces, nephews, and other friends. She has left our sight but will never leave our hearts. We will miss our devoted mother and grandmother. We will always remember her kindness, compassion, love and laughter.
