The youngest boy of 11 children born to James Marvin Webb and Lillie Mae Webb on March 25, 1926 in Norman Oklahoma, passed away in Baylor Hospital on September 26, 2015 after a short illness. He was 89 years old.
He graduated high school in Norman and afterwards joined the Army. While serving his country, he received a WW2 victory medal, American Service medal, a Good Conduct medal, an Army of Occupation medal, and a European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three bronze stars.
He was a Sergeant when he received his discharge papers.
He then returned to Norman where he followed his father and brothers working as a black mason. He met and married his one and only love Naoma Nova Lee Barnes. Work got slow in Norman so they moved to Texas with two children, son Charles and daughter Karen. They were living in Dallas when they had their second son James.
They moved to Mesquite in 1961, where he laid his wife to rest in 1992. Leonard continued living in Mesquite until his passing.
He is survived by his three children, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, his older sister Lola Tillman of California, and nieces and nephews living in Oklahoma and Texas.
There will be a gathering for friends and neighbors at their home in Mesquite on October 7, 2015.
Then there will be a celebration of life for his family at his grandson's home in Howe, Texas on the morning of October 11, 2015.
