Verna Lorraine Jensen

Verna Lorraine Jensen born October 8, 1934 to Gordon and Vera Sandberg, passed away on February 23, 2015 at the age of 80 years and 4 months. She was baptized, confirmed and was eventually married at Stockholm Lutheran Church in Cokato, MN. Verna graduated from Cokato High School in 1953 and after graduation, was married to Rolland H. Jensen on June 5, 1954. To this marriage, they were blessed with their two boys, Steve and Mark. She also has four grandchildren: Martin, James, Tara and Dana. Verna was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN where she quilted, was on the Church Council and was Vice President of ELCA, Southwest Minnesota District. In addition, Verna enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking, sewing, bridge club, sports, fishing and camping. She was preceded in death by her sisters Debra and Virginia; sister-in-law Adair, brothers-in-law Don Johnson and Vernon as well as her parents. Verna is survived by her husband Rollie, sons Steve and Mark (Anna); her brothers Jerry and David and her sister Carol. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Norma, Judy and Wanda; her brother-in-law Norman and numerous cousins, friends and neighbors. May she rest in peace with her Lord and Savior. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 612 S. Ellsworth Rd, Mesa, AZ 85208. . An additional service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday , April 14, 2015 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1040 S Grade Road Southwest, Hutchinson, MN 55350. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mesa, AZ or Christ the King Lutheran Church, in Hutchinson, MN
