February 7, 1944 - August 29, 2011
Thilda Alma Waldron, 67, died Monday, August 29, 2011, in the company
of her three daughters, Sherry, Linda and Donna, her grandson Tristan,
and several friends, after battling colon cancer for more than a year.
Thilda was born February 7, 1944, to Thilda and William Benson. She
had 4 brothers and one sister. She went to Woodbury High School in
Connecticut. She waited tables at the Curtis House in Woodbury for
many years, and then became an Enrolled Agent in 1986, working taxes
for more than 25 years. She worked for H & R Block for many years. She
really enjoyed working on people's taxes, and many of them insisted on
her doing them every year. She was was a member of the Eagles of Mesa,
Arizona.
She spent most of her life in Connecticut, but she went to Europe and
all over the United States to visit her daughters. Her daughters were
always the most important people in her life - where they went, she
went too! She was so proud of her daughters, as they were of her. They
were close, and quite outspoken with one another. She loved and
cherished family and friends, and spent as much time with them as she
could. She moved to Arizona in 2005, and enjoyed the warm weather and good
friends she made there. She was so friendly, and made life-long
friends wherever she went. She would go out of her way to help family
or friends.
Thilda is survived by her daughters, Sherry Steeves of Sandgate,
Vermont; Linda Toogood of Mesa, Arizona; and Donna Lian of Mesa,
Arizona; as well as sons-in-law André Boey and Douglas Toogood;
brothers William Benson of Southbury, Connecticut, Charles Benson of
Kearnersville, North Carolina, Edwin Benson of Watertown, Connecticut
and Joseph Benson of Seymour, Connecticut; sister Nancy Sperry of
Bethlehem, Connecticut; grandchildren Daija Dolmetsch of Austin,
Texas; Tristan Marcisz of Manchester, Vermont; Kazimir Marcisz of Ft
Lewis, Washington; Thea and Marta Steeves-Boey of Sandgate, Vermont;
