Teresa Stilo Gatto

Our beautiful Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, Teresa Gatto, passed away on October 11, 2016, in Chandler Arizona. She was born on April 11, 1925 in Santo - Stefano, Calabria, Italy, to Giovani and Domenica Stilo. She is survived by her daughter, Caterina Garino; her grandchildren, Enzo Garino, Piero (Rita) Garino, Silvio (Kim) Garino, Maria Garino and Giulio (Alicia) Garino; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death and welcomed in heaven by her husband, Giulio.

Teresa will be remembered for her love of crochet, as well as her love of the outdoors. One of her favorite activities was working in the yard, planting beautiful flowers, plants, and trees. She was known to swing a pick axe until her family took it away from her when she was in her 80's. Teresa loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places and visiting her family around the world. Her favorite places to visit included Italy, New York, and Australia. If her family was near, it only increased the value of her travels.

Services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11:00 am, Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ 85206. There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Entombment will also take place at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care following the Funeral Services.
