Sharlene Marie McNeil, 61, of Tempe, AZ unexpectedly passed away on November 25th, 2024. She was born May 26th, 1963, in Minot, North Dakota to Charles F. McNeil Jr. and Luella (Frost) Wood. She was the middle of 5 siblings.
Sharlene was a devoted servant to the people of the City of Tempe, where she was known for her exceptional customer service and organizational skills. Her commitment to supporting veterans and local businesses was a testament to her generous spirit and community-minded nature. She enjoyed spending time with her family, was always the spark on family game nights, and never shy with her wicked sense of humor or infectious laugh.
She is survived by her daughter Samantha Johnson, sons Christopher and Alexander Johnson, her grandson, Lucas Johnson, mother Luella (Nick) Wood, brothers Patrick (Margaret) McNeil, Timothy (Diana) McNeil, sisters Karen McNeil, Joan (Thierry) Simondet. Sharlene is also survived by her nieces, nephews, grandniece and grandnephew.
She was preceded in death by Charles F. McNeil Jr. (father).
A celebration of life will be held in her memory on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at the All Saints Catholic Newman Center in Tempe, AZ with a Rosary at 1:30 PM, memorial mass at 2:00 PM, and a reception to follow. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Veteran’s Suicide Fund of the Southwest Veterans Foundation. Additionally, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist with final arrangement costs.
