Ross Eugene “Genie Boy” Kueny, born December 3, 1920 in Buffalo, WY to Albert Earl and Beulah Henrietta [Oglesby] Kueny, passed away on January 2, 2014 at the age of 93. Gene served in the U.S. Navy for 3 years, being Honorably Discharged in December of 1945. After the service, Gene was married to Leona Rose Baskett on May 17, 1947; Leona preceded him in death on April 7, 2000. During his younger years, Gene enjoyed going stream fishing with his children for salmon and trout. He was also a silversmith and taught silversmithing at Carriage Manor. Gene was a member of the A & A Scottish Rite, Aahmes Shrine, The Order of the Eastern Star and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his daughters Linda Sue Johnson, Patricia Ann Cardoza, Pamela Paulette Andrade and Debra Jean Kueny; grandchildren Nicole Olivares, Christy Prouty, Heather Wilson, Arlo Armstrong, Anthony Andrade and Jeune’ Kueny Spiers; great grandchildren Andy Marshall, Alexander Marshall, Danika Prouty, Hayden Prouty, Kahlila Anderson, Cody Armstrong, Eli Spiers and Ashton Wilson , as well as his sister Louise Ingebrigtson and many nieces. A celebration of his life will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
