Robin Snyder Meloy, 53, of Palos Verdes Estates, CA passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Phoenix, AZ after a short illness and a life well-lived. Born November 25, 1963, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Terry Wallace of Wilmington, DE and Robert Snyder of Los Angeles, CA.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Andrew Meloy, step-father Arthur Wallace, sisters Gabrielle Marlow (and son Joshua) and Jill Green, brothers Bruce Wallace, Robert Snyder and Jeff Snyder, grandmother Janet Thornton and her stepdaughters Brittany Meloy and Emily Palmer.
Robin approached living on her own terms, and managed to pack many adventures into her too-short life. She spent much of her life in Wilmington, DE, but she always dreamed of sunnier climes. After a short career in banking, she realized her true intention as an artist, home renovator and decorator. She created beautiful homes in Delaware and Florida and finally settled in California with her loving husband Andy. She had a knack for bringing beauty to her surroundings. She loved life and would never miss a party. She was an avid traveler and saw much of the world. She saw the positive in every situation. She had an uncanny ability to listen to people and help them see themselves in a way that was uplifting and inspired confidence.
She was a fiercely loyal and protective daughter, sister, aunt, stepmother and friend, an inspiration and source of support to her friends and family, and a bright light through life’s ups and downs for her mother. She was a source of pride and joy and a good friend to her fathers. She had a wide network of friends who appreciated her compassion, style and zest for life.
A celebration of life will be held on April 23 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in Wilmington for friends and family. There will be no service, but we will ask you to share a story about Robin if you would like, between 4:30 and 5:15. Robin ran out of time before fulfilling her dream of traveling the world to offer aid to those in need, so in lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations to Project C.U.R.E., 10377 East Geddes Avenue, Centennial, CO 80112.
After the clouds, the sunshine; after the winter, the spring; after the shower, the rainbow; for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease, after life's cares and sorrows, the comfort and sweetness of peace. - Helen Steiner Rice
