Robert Jones Gomez

Bob grew up on a ranch in Tempe, Arizona where he loved to ride horses with his siblings and help take care of the ranch. After high school, he was drafted into the US Army where he served in Berlin as a heavy vehicle driver. After his years of service, he went on to drive semi-trucks for many companies including Tempe Meat, Universal Paint/Kelly More and Otto Trucking. He married his beloved angel, Carmen on September 22, 1961. Family was everything to Bob; his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him so much joy. He was known to help anyone with whatever he could without second-guessing or expecting anything in return. Bob touched the lives of family, friends and strangers with his kindness, warmth, and sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Bob is preceded by his mother Adeline and father Ralph, and his siblings, William, Catherine, and Ann. He is survived by his beloved wife Carmen, daughters Mary (Daniel) and Laura (Martin), his grandchildren Erica (Toni), Ashley (Matthew) and Justin, and his great-grandchildren Jax, Jade and Desmond.

A service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Road, Mesa, AZ 85202, Visitation 9:00 am and Service will begin at 10:00 am.

Burial with military honors at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, will begin promptly at 1:00 pm, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024
