Marty was born on October 6, 1942, in Phoenix, Arizona to James and Dorothy Creasman. She was a graduate of Tempe High School and Arizona State University. As a career educator in the Kyrene Elementary School District, Marty was a member of the inaugural staff of Ahwatukee’s Kyrene de las Lomas when it opened in 1976. She continued there until her retirement in 2006, after a 30-year career of touching countless lives, teaching both 2nd and 4th grades.
In her retirement, Marty realized her dream of world travel with her children, including to Brazil and Europe. No memorial of her life would be complete without mentioning that Marty was never alone, being surrounded by family, friends, children, grandchildren, and of course her menagerie of pets who were never far away from her.
She is survived by her loving sister Nancy Creasman Cram; her children Kim Anderson (James), Robert Miller (Marcelo Loureiro), and Darla Forsnes; and her grandchildren Alexandra Anderson (Scott Burrows); William Anderson (Sabrina Riddle), Majalisa Forsnes (Bryan Dunnewald), Mark Forsnes, Jacob Anderson, Maren Forsnes, and Chloe Forsnes. She was predeceased by her parents, her son-in-law Evan Forsnes, and granddaughter Molly Forsnes.
Her family and friends will gather virtually on February 21st, at 11:00 AM MST to reflect on a life well-lived and will celebrate her life together when possible later this year. You may send a request for further information for virtual service to [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Kyrene Schools Community Foundation, [email protected].
