Manuel P. Nevarez

Manuel P. Nevarez (Manny) took the hand of God and followed him home on May 6, 2013. He fought a long but courageous battle with a devastating illness. Manny will forever be remembered for his love of life and family, his infectious laugh, and the sparkle in his eyes. He was born in Patagonia, AZ on Dec. 18, 1933. He served with the US Army and was a long-time employee of Valley National Bank (now JP Morgan Chase).

Manny is survived by Sheri, his wife of 32 years, daughter Loretta Nevarez-Kells, step-son Matthew Bustamante, step-daughter Melissa Kremp (husband Bud), granddaughter Sarah Brilz, grandson Joseph Brilz and his sister Maggie Sanchez. His family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Bloomberg for his dedicated care of Manny throughout the years and to Barbara and the staff of Happy Foster Family for the love and support they provided to both Manny and Sheri.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 2pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E. Libra Dr., Tempe, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest, 1028 E. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85006. Arrangements made by Lakeshore Mortuary.
