Kyle was born March 15, 1968, in Shenandoah, Iowa to Larry and Jeanette Jones. He graduated from Shenandoah Community High School and moved to Arizona in 1987. He attended Arizona State University (ASU) where he met his wife Lisa, married in 1993 and graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994. They settled in Tempe and faithfully attended First Christian Church of Tempe 1994-2002 and Bethany/Sun Valley Community Church in Tempe 2002-present.
Kyle had a long career as a Kidney Dialysis nurse, receiving 2 Daisy awards and multiple other awards and honors. He loved being a husband, father and grandad. He enjoyed hiking, biking and camping with his kids and friends. He traveled as often as possible and was always counting down until the next holiday or trip. His favorite recent trip was to Monte Carlo in 2021.
He was known for his humility, kindness and love for the Lord. He had a way of ministering to others by listening, accepting their lives and sharing his firm belief in salvation through Jesus Christ. He was honored to spread God’s truth through mission trips to The Philippines and Haiti. He spent years as a Sunday School and Small Group leader, including several years leading a church class for adults with special needs. He was a part of multiple men’s groups; one of which continued to meet at his home with him right up until his passing. Many of these men became friends that were as close as brothers.
Kyle was diagnosed with ALS in June 2015 and the age of 47. He continued to work full time for 2 years. He and his family are so grateful to his fellow nurses who made that possible. Kyle’s reputation as a man of excellent character made him an outstanding nurse, exceptional colleague and beloved family member & friend. He peacefully passed into heaven the morning of January 1, 2024, at the age of 55.
He is survived by parents Larry & Jeanette Jones (Chandler, AZ), wife Lisa Jones (Tempe, AZ),
brother Kevin (Stephanie) Jones (Gilbert, AZ), daughter Hannah (Luke) Barnes (Laveen, AZ),
son Brandon (Emma) Jones and grandsons Theodore & Titus (Gilbert, AZ).
A celebration of life for Kyle will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Sun Valley Community Church, 6101 S River Dr, Tempe, AZ 85283.
In lieu of flowers his family requests donations to the Arizona chapter of the ALS Foundation: http://secure.alsaz.org/goto/inmemoryofkylejones
In closing, we would like to share a verse with you that Kyle often shared with others:
Praise the Lord, who carries our burdens day after day;
He is the God who saves us.
