nearly a decade of health challenges, he passed away peacefully with his father at his bedside.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Debbi Furlong and survived by his father, Bill Furlong;
his sister and brother-in-law Alison and Clay Johnson, and niece Grace. He is also survived by
numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins on the East Coast.
Kyle was born on April 20, 1985 and spent a good portion of his life sharing memes about his
birthdate. He was a lifelong resident of Arizona (or the God-forsaken desert, as his grandmother
called it) spending most of his life in Mesa, Arizona. Kyle was an exceptionally caring individual
and a talented artist. He had a quirky sense of humor, a love of video games (only the best
ones), Studio Ghibli films, and all things Geek. He loved trivia and karaoke: if there’s a karaoke
bar in the afterlife, you will find him there.
Throughout his life he dealt with many challenges, especially in recent years. He was private
with most of his struggles, although those closest to him were likely aware to some extent. He
always cared more for other people than himself. He was loved, and we hope he is now at
peace. Kyle had a beautiful but complicated soul, and this world was not always a safe space
for him. The family asks that you celebrate his life by putting some much needed kindness out
into this world, especially to those who need it most.
