Katie Lang

Katie Lang, 69, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on April 12, 2025. Born on May 27, 1955 as Mary Katherine Senitza, she was affectionately known as Katie or Kate by her family and friends. Katie was raised in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and was the daughter of J.C. and Mary Helen (Comingore) Senitza. She was the youngest of five siblings, growing up with three older brothers—Jay, Gary, and Rick—and one sister, Susan. In 1976, Katie bravely ventured west to Arizona with her firstborn son, Trevor, beginning a new chapter in her life.

In 1987, Katie met Gary Lang, the love of her life. They married in 1989 and went on to raise a family together in the Gilbert and Chandler suburbs of Phoenix. Their first daughter, Amy Jo, was stillborn, a loss Katie always carried in her heart. She and Gary were later blessed with three more sons: Tanner, Riley, and McKinley. Katie was the heart of her family.

Katie loved celebrating holidays, going on road trips—especially to National Parks—hiking, swimming, playing racquetball, watching sports (such as GCU basketball), and simply enjoying time with her loved ones. Her passions included decorating for every season, reading crime novels, crafting, indulging in ice cream, chatting for hours, and sharing laughter wherever she went. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother.

Katie is survived by her loving husband, Gary; her four sons—Trevor (married to Aimee), Tanner, Riley (married to Sadie), and McKinley; her grandchildren—Grant (18), Raelynn (19 months), and Rowan (1 month); and her brothers, Jay and Rick. She was deeply loved and will be missed.
