John A. Robinson, 80, of Mesa, AZ, born January 16, 1933 to Guy and Clara Robinson in Quincy, IL, passed away February 12, 2013 in Mesa, AZ. Proudly serving in the U.S. Navy during Korean War, John earned the rank of Quarter Master 1st class on ship USS Manatee. He was also a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge for 50 years. Marrying the love of his life, Carol Frederick, on November 19, 1954 brought years of joy to John’s life. Together they had 3 children, and enjoyed raising them together. John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol Robinson; sons John Arthur Robinson Jr. and James Allen Robinson; daughter Linda Darlene Mayo, grandchildren Mindi Euell, Tiffany Robinson, Michael Burger, Mark Burger, and Jimmy Allen Robinson Jr.; great grandchildren Jasmine, Cassandra, Nowell, Isaiah, Kailey, Madison, Marrisha and Aliah. John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Mildred Carlene Wilde and Marilyn Jean Meekins. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Monday, February 18, 2013 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Church of the Master Presbyterian, 6659 E. University Dr. in Mesa.
