John was born on October 10, 1993, in San Francisco, CA, to Julia Whitfield Nichols and John Earl Nichols. He graduated from Novato High School in Novato, CA, in 2012. John spent the majority of his life in California’s Marin County, in both the towns of San Anselmo and Fairfax. He lived in the East Valley of the Phoenix-Metropolitan Area after graduating from high school and resided in Prescott for several years at the time of his passing.
John was working as a carpenter/framer for JMH Framing and Construction and was at the highest point in his life as he learned a new trade and worked with a family-owned company that appreciated his dedication to the job and outgoing and humorous personality. John enjoyed working on cars, video games, movies, TV, hiking, skiing, boating, dirt biking and especially pulling pranks and hanging out with his friends. He especially loved animals, the outdoors and considered “chilling” with friends or alone a busy activity.

He touched the lives of many people with his happy-go-lucky spirit and was known for always brightening up the face of anyone he encountered.
John was predeceased in passing by two grandfathers and a grandmother. He is survived by his grandmother Josephine Whitfield, Tempe, AZ, mother Julia W. Nichols, Prescott, AZ, father John E. Nichols, brother Cameron Nichols, United States Marine Corps, sisters Portia and Katrina Nichols, three aunts, one uncle and nine cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 1, at St. Matthews Methodist Church, 2540 W. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ 85202.
A second Celebration of Life will follow at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, at Heights Church, 2121 Larry Caldwell Dr., Prescott, AZ, 86301.
