IN LOVING MEMORY OF HARVEY ROBERT DODD, born in Ft. Supply, Oklahoma, March 3, 1922 to Isaac Jackson and Anna A. Dodd. Harvey was received in God's Kingdom on Friday, February 10, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, his daughter Denise Daday, Melbourne, AU; his son Brian Dodd, Seattle WA and three stepchildren: Tom Leslie, Casa Grande AZ; Tim Leslie, Fort Worth TX; and Teri Ashley Fodroci, Houston TX, He was preceded in death by his son Randall in November 2011. He loved his grandchildren: Brent Acajabon, Owen Harper, Jeremy and Justin Dodd, Lauren and Andrew Dodd, James Monahan, Michael Fodroci III, Derek Leslie, and Nicholas and Steven Leslie, all of whom returned his love. He also had 3 great granddaughters: Maya, Kara and Hannah. Harvey always excelled in sports. He was captain of his basketball team in high school and played baseball and basketball into his 40's. He was also an excellent golfer, who had four holes-in one! Soon after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Harvey voluntarily went to Hawaii to work as a civilian helping to salvage the sunken US ships. Within a year, he enlisted in the US Navy and after completion of training in New York City, he went on a Navy ship to Midway Island, where he spent the duration of the war on a submarine tender ship. After the war ended, he entered the Engineering program at the University of Washington in Seattle. There he received a degree in civil engineering, and later was licensed as a structural engineer. After working for 5 years in the Seattle Building Department, he started his own business as a professional consulting structural engineer. He was highly successful, and built an excellent reputation as a hard working and honest business. He was appointed by the Governor to be on the Board of Registration for Civil Engineers in the State of Washington. In his professional life he was loved and admired by his many friends and family members. He will be deeply missed by all of the, but especially his wife, Ruth.
