Gennie's dearest treasure was her family.
Gennie was born April 24, 1924, in Randolph County, IN. She attended school in Farmland, Indiana, graduating from Farmland High School in 1942. After High School she worked in the Civil Service during WWII as well as other financial positions including real estate. In 1948 she married Bill Resler, the love of her life. Her career path led into banking, working at Muncie Federal Savings and Loan in Muncie, IN, until moving to Scottsdale, AZ, in 1965. Once in Arizona she enjoyed a career as an escrow officer working for Tom Fannin and Associates. In 1979 the family moved to Chandler, AZ, where she opened and managed the office of Stewart Title and Trust from where she retired in 1990.
Gennie was a member of Delta Theta Tau for 42 years, a philanthropic sorority that supports women and children in crisis. She loved the sisterhood and their annual fundraiser making cheeseballs. She is fondly remembered as, "cheeseball Gennie."
Gennie spent many weekend nights dancing will her Bill, who passed away in 1987. She always made family vacations the best from fishing trips in Michigan to the White Mountain Lakes of Arizona, getting away to our Pinetop retreat, to California beaches, amusement parks, riding horseback down Bryce Canyon, fun filled trips to Sandy Beach, Rocky Point, Mexico to name a few. She also enjoyed Hawaiian Island trips, ocean cruises, or just relaxing in the family pool. She loved the Arizona Diamondbacks from their very beginning, watching every game until the final out. She also loved her Friday trips to the hair salon followed by brunch at Sunny's. Going to the Pork Shop in Queen Creek was always a treat. Her favorite past times were playing cards, word searches puzzles, and petting the family pups!
