Donald Paul Smith

Donald Paul Smith passed away on March 27, 2018. He was born February 17, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Anna Smith. Donald graduated from Northern University at Dekalb in 1959 and began his career in sales for R & M Kaufman for 30 years. He moved to Albuquerque early in his career and later settled here in the Valley where he continued in sales until his retirement. He met and married Nancy 47 years ago.Then he became an independent salesman for numerous women’s apparel lines. Don was instrumental in forming the Phoenix Women’s Apparel Association in the early 1990s. During his tenure with PWAA he served as President/CEO, Vice President and was a Board Member. Don loved tennis and Golf. He loved the ocean, and spent as much time as possible in Rocky Point, Mexico. Don loved sports and was an ardent ASU fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. Don is survived by his wife Nancy, sons James Burton Wilbur (Rebecca) & Bradford Steven Wilbur, grandsons Matthew Ryan & Christian James Wilbur. Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ 85206, Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 10:00 A.M.
