He was born on May 17, 1951, one of 6 children to Earl and Mable (Whittaker) Pender in Pontiac, Michigan. He was raised in Michigan, where he graduated high school. After he graduated, he moved west to California, then to Mesa. He met Julie Tack at a Texaco gas station in Mesa, and they married in Las Vegas in 1999. David worked for Southwest Airlines, and enjoyed music (especially Elvis), travelling (taking a trip to Graceland) and movies.
David is survived by his wife Julie Pender, children Lisa Schnebly (Dan), Paul Pender (Beth), Stephanie Hogenson, Michelle Cook; grandchildren Mikaela, Gracie, Livie, Ona, Geoff, Samantha, Christy, Ricco, Katie, Aaron, Mikey, Lula, Cody, Zach, Gary, Joshua; brothers Craig Pender, Lance Pender, Terry Pender.
Viewing/ visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park at 9-11 am, followed by funeral service at 11am at Mariposa Gardens. Interment will be held immediately following service at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park cemetery.
