It was not complicated or a burden to be Dan's friend personally or professionally. Although it was important and a must to respect him professionally it became much more than that, you didn't want to disappoint him. Through the challenges of projects that we accomplished together we never felt alone, we knew that Dan was there, with a plan, a kick if we needed it and one of his awesome smiles when we deserved it. Many people will miss him and never forget.

I have known Monty for my entire 25 year career at Intel.  Monty was one of the most professional, capable project managers ever to wear a hard hat Intel.  When we had difficult projects at Intel, Monty was often asked to provide leadership and guidance.  He understood the importance of schedule and balanced such by managing the project scope and ensuring adequate project funding.   When Monty was involved better decisions were made and corporate value increased.  Monty spoke often of hunting with his boys or coaching his daughters in softball.  The way his children were living their lives was the sparkle in his eyes and I found myself often engaged in a discussion where he was reflecting on their accomplishments.  I know their accomplishments in life were what he cherished most in this life.

I am a better man because of my association with Monty.  Monty passing came as a shock to many of us at Intel.  

Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace!

I worked with Dan for several years and he was one of the best to work with. Great humor, honest and fair. I will miss him.

Sorry to hear of Dan's passing.  I was a high school classmate & played hockey with Monty for the Redskins & Wheatkings in Grand Forks.  I'll always remember Dan as a great guy.

Even though it has been 20 years since I have seen Dan, I still remember working side by side with him at Intel in the projects group at the Chandler site.  Never met a more stand up and straight forward guy!  The world is a little worse off without him in it  and I for one will miss him. God bless his family and friends!
