Bruce Flood of Carrizo Springs TX, son of Mr. Roger Flood and Mrs. Lucy Flood passed away Wednesday morning August 31, 2016 at 70 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Joye Flood, children Lonnie Werth (47), Bruce Flood II (44), Brandy Thompson (44), Lisa Flood (42), 3 grandchildren Kylee Thompson (20), Tyra Thompson (17) and Jacob Kelly (23). Bruce is also survived by his siblings Roger Flood, Craig Flood and Vicki Patrick and countless other family and friends.
Bruce moved to Arizona after serving in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970 and used the training he gained while serving in the “after engine room” on the USS Rogers to get into the Air Conditioning business in Phoenix Arizona. Within a year he started his own company, Bruce’s A/C and Heating and successfully ran that business for over 40 years until he sold it in 2012. He soon turned his hobby of photography/videography from a hobby into another full-fledged, successful business in Dynamite Snapshots. He loved to video his youngest grand-daughter Tyra Thompson’s dance concerts, competitions and recitals, his oldest grand-daughter Kylee Thompsons volleyball games.
He loved spending time with his family, which consisted of Sunday family dinners at Nana’s with his in-laws, children and grandchildren. The Monday night dinners at Native New Yorker with his brother-in-law Lonnie and Debbie his sister-in-law happened weekly. He also took a lot of pride in not missing his grandchildren’s events, whether it was a dance competition or a volleyball tournament, he and Joye traveled the country to support and cheer them on and don’t forget capturing everything in video/photography.
Bruce and Joye also enjoyed camping in their plush 5th Wheel trailer or taking extended month long road trips with Lonnie, Debbie, Jim and Bonnie Crick all throughout the country. For many years holiday weekends were spent in the Northern Arizona National Forest camping and riding their ATV’s with countless numbers of friends and family, far too many to list by name.
