Marilyn was born on March 27th, 1945, to Virgil and Louise Miller in Takoma Park, Maryland. She attended Walter Johnson High School (Bethesda, Maryland), graduating in 1963, and went on to earns a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland. Marilyn had a successful career in the field of Public Relations, working for many years at the Department of Natural Resource (Annapolis, Maryland) and the Orange County Public Library System (Orlando, Florida).
She was happily married to Patrick Hoffman (deceased) for over 40 years. In 1990, they moved from Maryland to Florida to pursue their dreams of a “Florida Wonderland” with sunshine, palm trees and relaxing days on the beach. She enjoyed traveling, boating, dancing, along with spending time with family, friends and her faithful dog Coco. Marilyn was a loving mother and friend to her 3 children and their spouses: Bill, Leigh (Patrick Cloyd-Son-in-Law), and Doug (Jen Hoffman-Daughter-in-Law). She also was a beloved Grandmother to her 5 grandchildren: Madeline Cloyd, Kaitlin Cloyd, Charlie Cloyd, Riley Hoffman, and Elizabeth Hoffman.
Services will be held at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 N. Courtenay Parkway in Merritt Island on Saturday, December 14th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society
