Helen was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Arlene Kottwitz; brothers, Harold and Walter Kottwitz; son, Paul Pfeiffer, Jr.; husbands, Paul Pfeiffer, Sr., John McNamara, Fred Preiss, and Richard Carter, as well as other family and friends.
Helen graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1945. Helen would go on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Madison University in Business Administration. Helen worked at Kennedy Space Center as a secretary. She was also a realtor/broker and owned and operated a Merle Norman Cosmetic Store. Helen was also a published children’s book author.
She was a child of God, serving her community through multiple activities. She was a lifelong member of Epsilon Lambda ESA serving as President and other offices. She was a member of the Cocoa Beach Women’s Club, the Merritt Island Garden Club, part of the Board of Directors of the New Hope Center for Brain Damaged Children, and with the University of Florida’s Genesis Program.
Helen was a charter member of Riverside Presbyterian Church and was actively involved with her church family. She loved to paint, play Bridge, play music and spend time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling - especially to visit family members and learn about their genealogy.
Helen leaves behind her grandson Paul Pfeiffer, III; daughter-in-law, Catherine Pfeiffer; nieces and nephews, Melvin (Valerie) Kottwitz, Philip (Pam) Kottwitz, Mark (Leslie) Brimer, Jan Leppert, Lori Kottwitz, Pam Tipton; grandnephew, Gregory Tipton, II; grandniece, Brandi Kesel; as well as other extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Riverside Presbyterian Church, 3400 N Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931, with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955.
