Sarah C. Henderson, known to those who loved her as "Cathy", 96, of Merritt Island, FL passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020. Born in Tuxedo, North Carolina, Sarah moved to Florida in 1957 from Asheville. She previously won Mrs. Asheville and was runner-up for Mrs. North Carolina. Sarah worked as a Dental Assistant for 40 years.
Sarah devoted her life to the Lord and attended First Baptist of Merritt Island. She enjoyed spending time with her family and researched her family genealogy for many years. Sarah loved to craft, sew, garden, and cook; her specialty was her lemon pound cake.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Henderson, and her daughter, Margaret Jageler. She is survived by two children: Barbara Park and Don Henderson; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Wylie-Baxley Merritt Island on Monday, February 3, 2020 with visitation from 10-11AM with funeral service immediately following. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando.
